What I Hope to Accomplish...

Before I discuss my goals for District 4 in Portland, please note unlike my opponents I am not accepting campaign contributions.

I walk the streets of downtown Portland District 4 all hours of the day and night, every day. I ride the MAX and buses to work and around the city. I will continue to be accessible to the general public. I, therefore, have become part of the colorful sociological tapestry of this city. I am a graduate of Louisiana State University and value education highly. I find that leading by example is the best form of leadership. I understand the streets downtown District 4 Portland, because I walk them every day.  Thus, my 11 point plan for my first 100 days in office will occur seamlessly and naturally.

  1. Art Mural district for graffiti artists downtown, similar to RINO art district of Denver. Celebrate our artists, Basquiat and Keith Haring were celebrated in 1980s NYC for defacing public property, their artwork now sells for upwards of 100 million dollars, yet Governor Kotek incarcerates our artists, Celebrate don’t Incarcerate Art.

  2. Soothing sounds of Nature downtown, public speaker system

  3. Seasonal lights on buildings bring a regular vibe to the city. Why do people go to Times Square in NYC all hours of the night, light.

  4. Crosswalks and street lights of District 4 are outdated. I will put a pedestrian Shibuya Crossing across from Powell’s Bookstore and pedestrian safety barriers throughout the city. The bike lanes in District 4 are barely used.

  5. Northwest Cultural Center on Everett Street will be reopened. It is currently a deteriorating building. Bring back once thriving Loaves and Fishes, Grey Panthers, and Food Not Bombs occupants. Establishment Homeowner Class has many 3rd spaces, poor people in this city do not, this is income inequality institutional bigotry. Implement Frog Ferry!

  6. Live Nation music venue facility license will be revoked. This city has worked too hard to build a homegrown musical identity.

  7. Amazon Just Walk Out will be removed from the Moda Center, violating Living Wage aspirations of hourly wage workers like myself

  8. I will immediately begin lobbying OLCC for marijuana lounges. Poor and working-class residents do not have a 3rd space for community and camaraderie. I will immediately make community and camaraderie my mission.

  9. The WTC walkway will be repurposed as a tourist destination.

  10. Downtown skyscrapers will have observatories as a tourist destination and for residents of District 4. The Pink Tower Observation Deck will be paid for by U.S. Bank shareholders that have abandoned the small businesses of the neighborhood.

  11. The Indigenous community of Oregon will be given jobs to start a Peace Garden downtown, a meditative reflective space, a garden and focal point in the city for community and camaraderie.

  12. Good Deed vouchers will immediately be given to District 4 residents for discounts and/or complimentary services from the public and private sectors of the city. Immediately upon beginning my 2-year term as a city commissioner, I have or will have coalitions in place to work toward making all of my campaign platform issues a reality.
